This National Careers Week we want to take the opportunity to focus on our blossoming Creative Industries and the range of opportunities available for young people.

Last week we attended the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) annual conference and came away feeling informed, inspired and excited.

On Friday 9 February, 88 more schools in England received their Artsmark Award, recognising their commitment to high quality arts and cultural education.

Huge congratulations to all 27 Artsmark schools who have been shortlisted in this year's Tes School Awards! From 'Creative School of the Year', 'Headteacher of the Year', 'New Teacher of the Year', the list goes on.

Our Artsmark Partners, the National Theatre, talk to us about their offer for Artsmark schools focussing on their newly launched initiative Let’s Play – a programme that supports primary schools to create outstanding theatre and embed drama across the curriculum.

Since the Artsmark Partnership Programme launched last year, more than 650 arts and cultural organisations have signed up, offering a whole range of brilliant cultural opportunities for both young people and their teachers.

Here at Artis, we strongly believe that the arts inspire and motivate children’s creativity, allowing them to find their voice and open up their imagination. As well as giving them a space to explore challenging themes more openly outside of the formal learning environment, the arts help to build young people’s confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
